CF and Ocala honor Dr. Lorenzo Edwards

CF and the City of Ocala celebrated the naming of the Dr. Lorenzo Edwards Community Room at the CF Hampton Center (Thursday). The room was named for the Hampton Center’s founding director, Rev. Dr. Lorenzo Edwards, in honor of his lifetime of service to CF and the City of Ocala. The room will serve as a constant reminder of his contributions and the lasting impact he has had on our institution.

Ocala honors outstanding staff and citizens

(Tuesday’s) City Council Meeting was a celebration of dedication and service. City Manager Pete Lee and Mayor Ben Maricano honored outstanding staff and citizens for their remarkable achievements and years of commitment to Ocala.

Here are the honorees:

  • Angie Peters received the Mayor’s Citizen Recognition Award.
  • Lorenzo Edwards was honored with a Proclamation from the City.
  • Nathaniel Jackson (Public Works Department), Marty Lewis (Recreation and Parks Department), and Officer Ronnie Williams Sr. (Ocala Police Department) were recognized for their 25 years of service to the city.
  • Battalion Chief Clayton Anderson (Ocala Fire Rescue) was recognized for his 30 years of service to the city.
  • Ocala Electric Utility employees (Jason Rampley, Joe Allen, Howard Smallwood, Tyler Homan, Travis Richardson, Bryson Jones, Garrett Lindsey, Matt Rieder, Chris Drivas, and Buck Lovell) were recognized for their role in providing mutual aid to the City of Tallahassee from May 10 to May 16 after their severe weather event.

We are proud of all the individuals mentioned above for their contributions to the City of Ocala! Their hard work and commitment to our community make Ocala a better place to live!
